…Hercules is not having a good day. If only his father, Zeus could see beyond his earthly shortcomings…

Not the most organised of super heroes and a bit of a disaster zone, our Hercules is a powerful force of nature.

He doesn’t know his own strength, but maybe that’s what makes him (half) human after all!

An uproarious adventure through Hercules’ loves and labours – monsters, magicians, music and mayhem – a carnival for all the family.

n.b. Our productions are simply staged and beautiful to look at, highly physical and suitable for all ages.
Even if your children are too young for Shakespeare, they’ll certainly love our hero Hercules…

There are 8 performances a week, including 2.00pm matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays, and a tea time special on a Sunday at 5.00pm.

The Road to Standon provides an opportunity for young and aspiring bands to stake a claim for a main stage spot at Standon Calling this summer. More than 100 bands from up and down the country have entered the competition, and Telford’s Warehouse now plays host to the North Wests regional heat…

The event (www.standon-calling.com) – now in its 10th year and held in the grounds of a 16th Century manor house, has become known as being streaks ahead of industry talent spotters ? having booked the likes of Florence and the Machine and Friendly Fires before they became household names ? and now offers the chance for new and unsigned acts to join the haunts of stars who launched their careers in the merry fields of Standon.

If you know the bands and their music, know the awesome nights Standon put on, follow the legend that is prefestival warm up or simply want to spend your evening listening to the sounds of next year then make sure you head down and see what’s on offer!

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

Join us for an evening of merriment, fun and laughter when the beautiful gardens of Grosvenor Park come alive with one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, Much Ado About Nothing.

Lovestruck Claudio and Hero are determined to marry despite the shenanigans going on around them.

Notwithstanding the shortest of engagements (one week!), there still seems to be plenty of opportunity for mischief making, not least trying to match-make our other heroes, Beatrice and Benedick.

And herein starts the merry war of the sexes…

Masquarade balls, plotters in disguise, jilted brides and mistaken intentions go to make up one of the Bard’s best loved and funniest plays, and the perfect end to a balmy summer’s eve.

Chester August Bank Holiday Weekend!

Stephen Poliakoff returns to the big screen with Glorious 39, a thriller set in England as Britain stands on the brink of war.

Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain is at the forefront of the movement to appease Hitler; whilst others, with Winston Churchill as their powerful figurehead, believe that war is essential to combat the Nazi threat.

The story centres on the formidable Keyes family, who are determined to preserve their very traditional, English way of life in the midst of this political uncertainty.

The cast includes Julie Christie, Bill Nighy, Romala Garai, David Tennant, Jeremy Northam and Jenny Agutter.

The Last Supper
by Reckless Sleepers

Reckless Sleepers invite you to dinner, to sample the last meal requests of the famous and the not-so famous.

You’re asked to eat and drink while they speak, then eat the last words of the famous, the infamous, of criminals, victims, heroes, heroines and stars.

With real scenarios, invented scenarios, scenarios in the future, scenarios from the past, The Last Supper is part performance, part meal, made up of half-remembered words and the forgotten last requests of inmates on death row.

Each audience member is given a table number, their case number, their incident number.

Thirteen of these are last suppers.

An Education is a coming-of-age drama film based on the autobiographical memoir written by the journalist Lynn Barber, adpated for the screen by Nick Hornby.

In the post-war, pre-Beatles London suburbs, a bright school girl is torn between studying for a place at Oxford and the rather more exciting alternative offered to her by a charismatic older man.

Starring Carey Mulligan, An Education features an ensemble cast including Emma Thompson, Peter Sarsgaard, and Dominic Cooper.

An Education was nominated for 3 Oscars, and was the winner of 17 international film awards.
