A truly international music festival with an exciting range of music, ideas and extraordinary artistic talent, with over 30 events in 13 days this festival is not to be missed.

As a Festival of the Voice, we have wonderful singers and choral groups including our own Chester Festival Chorus performing across a whole spectrum of music. But we’ll also showcase the explosion of talent from the Far East; we’ll revel in the music of the Great Romantics; we’ll showcase masters of their art in a wide range of musical genres. We’ll even have a festival within a festival; Let’s Hear It! – a weekend of non-stop music designed for music lovers, casual listeners, the young, the old and the curious from the bite size to the full length concert. It’s a total immersion for the musical spirits, a gourmet experience for the musical taste buds, and it is all served up in the glorious historic City of Chester. This is the perfect event for family and friends this Easter, and whether you jog, walk or stroll – you will be raising vital funds for cancer research. Life saving stuff all for a walk in the park.

Come for loved ones who have been affected by cancer, come for those you know who have recovered or to celebrate the lives of those you lost to the disease – but please do come.

Marking the beginning of the festive season here at Grosvenor, Santa will arrive on his sleigh pulled by reindeer and accompanied by the City of Chester band. He will then walk around the garden centre to say hello to as many children as possible. And why not say hello to the reindeer in their all-new corral where you can pet and feed them too if they are hungry!

The weekend will be full of fun and entertainment for all the family from 11am until 3pm with circus skills workshops to try with magic and balloon modelling too!

Chester Christmas Lights Switch On – 11th November 2010

This year’s Chester Christmas Light switch on takes place in the city centre on Thursday 11th November 2010 from 5 to 6.45pm.

Chester city centre will be filled with entertainment  from 3pm onwards on Thursday 11th November. There will be a Christmas parade and the lights will be switched on at 6.30pm at Eastgate Street, by the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress and, of course, Father Christmas.

Warrington Christmas Lights Switch On – 18th November 2010

The Old Market Place Warrington will see an evening of entertainment hosted by Wire FM. with Father Christmas visiting.

The Warrington Christmas Light Switch On will take place at 7.30pm, by Lucie Jones of the X factor.

Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Christmas Lights Switch On – 12th November 2010

Cheshire Oaks are claiming to have Britain’s Biggest Christmas Tree this year. As ever there will be an packed evening of entertainment with top pop acts to be confirmed.

Knutsford Christmas Lights Switch On and Christmas Market – Thursday 2nd December 2010

Knutsford Town Council, http://www.knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk/ , is combining this year’s Christmas Light Switch On with their very first Christmas Market.

Celebrations will take place from 1pm right through to 9pm on 2nd December 2010.

Stalls at the new Christmas Market are still available.
