The Water Tower itself was built in 1322-3 to defend the opening to the Port of Chester. The Tower and Wall to the Gardens are registered as Schedule Ancient Monuments; and the Gardens are considered a Conservation Area.

Within the Gardens you will find bowling greens, tennis courts, play area for toddlers, the pavilion and best of all – the maze.

Follow the path to the centre of the maze and you will find a dolphin mosaic fashioned on a Roman design as your prize.
