Age Concern is a charitable organisation who operate throughout the UK provides services and relief to the elderly.

Age Concern Cheshire is a registered charity and is part of the Age Concern Federation.

It is the endeavour of Age Concern to promote healthy and independent living for the older people. They continue to involve older people in establishing and achieving their aims to maintain choice and control for older people, to promote independence and where possible staying in their own homes, and to promote the overall well-being of older people by providing activities and services they wish to have access to.

It can be difficult approaching business or services as an older person. Often you feel like you will be taken advantage of or even misled by people who think that you do not know any better. Age Concern is involved in a vast array of matters concerning older people. They can offer help and advice on anything that you may be struggling with or simply want to know more about.

Services offered by Age Concern Cheshire cover: Advocacy, Day Care, Falls Prevention, Companion and Neighbourhood Groups, approved workmen and suppliers, Get Active fitness programmes, Computer Learning Centres, help and advice with financial matters, telephone support and home visiting service.

Age Concern England runs financial services especially tailored to the over 50s. Here you can be relaxed in your choice and be rest assured that buying your policy for home, car or travel insurance, energy bills or motor breakdown cover that Age Concern will get you a great deal without any risk of being taken advantage of because you are an older person.

Age Concern also operate a home-emergency alarm service called Aid Call.

Age Concern have set up a number of partnerships with companies providing independent financial advise, holidays, flowers, books, funeral plans, wills and legal services and even run their own weekly lottery.

So you can see they really offer an essential service for the care and support of older people.
