Guys and Dolls
Friday 27th – Saturday 28th August 2010.
The Quays Theatre, the Lowry, Salford Quays, Salford.
The Company Music Theatre, http://www.thecompanymusictheatre.org.uk/, is in search of young people to audition for parts in their next theatrical production and continue the success of their most recent productions. The Rose and the Ring in 2008 and Merrily We Roll Along in 2009 were both performed at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester to rave reviews. This year the Company are proud to be holding their first production at the Lowry and will be performing the classic hit musical Guys and Dolls.
Frank Loesser’s classic musical Guys and Dolls has enjoyed success on the West End, Broadway and all over the UK. Set in the 1940’s, it tells the story of how small town gambler Nathan Detroit bets his big time pal Sky Masterson that he can’t make the next woman he see’s fall in love with him. The next doll happens to be neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown. It show features the classic hits Luck be a Lady, Sit Down, Your Rockin’ the Boat and of course Guys and Dolls.

About The Company Music Theatre
Although a relatively new organisation, the collective experience of the creative, technical and administrative teams is extensive and growing. As well as working with the Company, all of the administration team are developing within nationally and internationally recognised organisations, excelling as professional practitioners and placing a supportive, collaborative network. Unlike other national youth theatres there is no bias towards the southeast, or any geographic region and they strive to recruit performers and supporters from across the country. The team are based in the southeast, midlands and northwest, and work even further afield. Taking their cue from the cultural renaissance enjoyed in the northwest over recent years, their debut production was presented in the Dancehouse Theatre, Manchester in 2008. Such was the success of The Rose and The Ring that it achieved critical acclaim and the support of the Manchester Evening News, culminating in winning the BIZA Award and a cheque for £5000 at the M.E.N. Theatre Awards 2008.
