Arley Hall is a huge and beautiful country house set in the village of Arley in Cheshire.
Arley Hall is owned by the Viscount Ashbrook and his family and the building has been sitting on the site since the mid fifteenth century. The house you see today is not the original building from the fifteenth century but one built in the 1830’s; that has seen many additions and alterations to this eye catching Grade II Listed building.
Arley Hall boasts its own Chapel that was built in the early 1840’s and was consecrated in 1845. The Chapel is built out of red sandstone located from quarries in Runcorn. The Chapel is a charming and resplendent addition to Arley Hall and its gardens.
As well as being a great country home Arley Hall also has huge gardens that have been on the property since the 1830’s. The gardens consist of a kitchen garden where all the fruits and vegetables are grown and a huge landscaped garden that is called a park because of its expansive size.
The landscaped park includes a pleasure park and a formal garden as well as a sundial circle and alpine rock garden.
The gardens at Arley Hall are an example of beautifully cultivated and well designed gardens; with an abundance of amazing flowers and plants such as the double Herbaceous Border, Holm Oak and Yew hedge among others.
