Tatton Park Information

Tatton Park is a huge estate in Cheshire that serves as one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area with over 750,000 visitors coming to Tatton Park each year.

The park consists of a Neo-classical mansion full of wonderful old and antique items of interest, over 1,000 acres of deer park, beautiful cultivated Gardens, an old Hall, a rare breeds Farm and many interesting and varied events.

Tatton Park has evidence of settlements back as far as the Bronze Age and has had deer living in the estate from as far back as the thirteenth century making the area of great historical and environmental importance.

The estate was owned by a rich family by the name of the Egerton family who lived on the estate from Tudor times until 1958 when the last in line of the Egerton family passed away without an heir. In the will of the last Lord Egerton Tatton Park was left to the National Trust who leases the property to the Cheshire East Council.
