Boy Singing in Chester UK – Valerie Video

This is my chosen video for the day for you. I hope this young man doesn’t object to me posting this video but really can you sing like this? Outside, in front of the whole of Chester city centre?!

With the help of his friends he is singing his own version of Valerie.

Performed originally by the Zutons reaching number 9 in the charts it was then more successfully covered by Amy Winehouse managing to hit number 2. My favourite take on the song has to be the Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse version which is perfect for brightening any dull day.

After a little research on the internet some seem to be under the impression that the track came from further back in chart history and was the brain child of Steve Winwood or even the Monkies. I have to disagree on this one as these two songs, which are different from each other again, share only the name Valerie as the common denominator as far as I can distinguish.
