Cheshire Days Out – Go Ape! – Delamere Forest

Go Ape by big-ashbGo Ape at Delamere Forest Park, Cheshire, is a “High Wire Forest Adventure”, featuring ladders, walkways, bridges and zip lines up in the forest canopy.

Visitors are kitted out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners then let loose on a giant obstacle course in the trees!

Ideal for the Tarzan inside you or even just for monkey-ing around in the tree-tops, Go Ape lets you climb, swing, jump and zip without a lion or big game hunter in sight!

The Go Ape experience is about excitement, adrenalin and breaking out of comfort zones, and above all, great fun.

How To Get To Go Ape!

By car: SatNav users should navigate to “Delamere Railway Station”, which is at the end of Go Ape’s road.

Follow the signs from the station to the course.

By public transport: the nearest railway station is at Delamere Station which is approximately a four minute walk from Go Ape Delamere. Hourly trains run to Delamere from:

Manchester – 1hour
Liverpool – 1 ¼ hours
Chester – 15mins
Crewe – 50 mins

Please allow plenty of time for your journey. At busy times it can take at least 20 minutes to get from the car park to the Go Ape cabin.

Go Ape Visitor Restrictions

Minimum age – 10yrs
Minimum height – 1.4m (4ft7″)
Maximum weight – 20.5 stones (130kg)

Under 18yr olds must be supervised by a participating adult.

Go Ape at Delamere Forest Park, Cheshire, is the most spread out course in the country, taking in fantastic views of Lake Linmere and its wildlife.

A nominal degree of physical fitness is required, but if you can climb a rope ladder, then you should be fine.

The course can take between 2-3 hours to complete, and spectators are always welcome to watch from the ground, take photographs and laugh at the Apes above!

Officers Go Ape with youngsters

Six officers were paired with a local youngster aged between 11 and 16 as they attempted to navigate the zip-wires, rope ladders and treetop tunnels at Go Ape Adventure Park in Delamere Forest, Cheshire on 28 May.
