Chester Events in July

Is it really coming up to July already? As we zoom through 2009 and fast towards the school summer holidays Directory of Chester gives you the Chester July Events Calendar.

There are plenty of events throughout June so plenty of excuses for a day out in Chester UK whilst you look forward to the summer holiday break.

Chester Racecourse is home to the British Masters International Show Jumping Competition as well as the Chester Races July Festival of Ladies’ and Gents Evening and the totesport Day.

The River Dee will see the Charity Chester Raft Race organised by The Rotary Club and a Traditional Fishing Demonstration towards the end of July.

There are two great events at the Grosvenor Garden Centre with their Farmers’ Market on Friday 10^th July and their ‘Real Food Festival’ held over the weekend of 18^th and 19^th July.

Celebrate Chester’s history by joining in with the Festival of Archaeology running from 18^th July to 2^nd August. Roman Tours Ltd will be holding the Festival Arena Games at Chester’s Roman Amphitheatre on the 18^th and 19^th July and you can visit the Grosvenor Museum for their fascinating Archaeology Day on Friday 24^th July.

If Comedy Club’s are your favourite entertainment then why not visit Alexander’s Jazz Bar or the Purple Cactus Comedy Club who are hosting an Edinburgh Fringe Special night on 24^th July as well as their usual infamous monthly comedy night on 10^th July.

Chester Zoo is also hosting some wonderful July events including their Big Cat Chats and the Lazy Summer Evening event - where you can enjoy a barbecue and stay late at the Zoo.

The largest of the events in Chester this July is the Chester Summer Music Festival which runs from the 2^nd to 18^th July and includes lots of different types of music entertainment held in some stunning venues throughout the city.

 So however you like to spend your leisure time there is plenty to choose from things to do in Chester this July.
