Day out in Cheshire
The Cheshire County Show is held most years at Tabley and this year promises to be bigger and better
than ever before.
The Cheshire Show really is the perfect day out in Cheshire with a chance to see and meet local farmers from the surround Cheshire district.
People from all over the country come to the Cheshire County Show and is not unheard of for up to 70,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors to visit the two day event.
Throughout the day in the main ground you will be treated to a fantastic array of demonstrations which include show jumping, motorbike displays, ferreting, archers, bee-keeping and falconry.
The Agri-Centre at the Cheshire County Show gives us all an important lesson on realising how we get our food from the land and just how important our local Cheshire farmers and producers are.
You can also visit the Dog Show which judges Sporting Dogs on Tuesday and Non-Sporting Dogs on the Wednesday.
Cheshire County Show 2007
Competitions are held to award local businesses for their excellence in flower arranging, best pig, light horses, shire horses, sheep, cattle, rare-breed, dairy goat, poultry, cheeses and wine and the overall best trade stands.
Away from the judging you can wander through the many marquees seeing all of the animals there for the Cheshire County Show. If you are lucky you may even get to speak to the farmer with any questions you might have.
One of the best features of the Cheshire County Show is the Trade Stands which house stalls from all trades of the local area. Here you can explore the Farmer’s Market, purchase delicious local cheeses and delight at the huge variety of plants, flower and crafts available.
